TRADEMARK
Trademark Meaning: trade mark" means any mark capable of being represented graphically which is capable of distinguishing goods or services.
PAKISTAN TRADEMARK (Trade Marks Ordinance, 2001)
Application for trademark in Pakistan should contain:
• Full name, address of profession or business of the applicant and his / her nationality.
• Clear reproduction of the Trademark and translation must be indicated, if Trademark is in a foreign language.
• Copies of logo or a label
• Detail of products by which will be protected the Trademark and / or the classes of the International protection Classifications for which is being applied.
• List of goods.
• Date of first use.
Application for registration.- (1) An application for registration of a trade mark shall be made in writing to the Registrar in the prescribed manner.
(2) Without limiting the particulars that may be included in an application, the application shall contain-
(a) a request for registration of a trade mark; (b) full name and address of the applicant; (c) a statement of goods or services in relation to which it is sought to register the trade mark; (d) international classification of goods or services; (e) a representation of the trade mark; and (f) full name, address and contact details of agent, in case the application, on behalf of the applicant, if made by his agent.
(3) The application shall state that the trade mark is being used by the applicant, or with his consent, in relation to goods or services, or that he has a bona fide intention that it should be used.
(4) The application shall be subject to the payment of the application fee as may be prescribed.
AMERICAN TRADEMARK
Application for trademark in America should contain:
• Full name, address of profession of the applicant and his nationality.
• Copies of logo or a label
• Detail of products by which will be protected the Trademark.
• List of goods.
• Date of first use.

Procedure for all Trademark registration applications
The application for registration must provide the following information:
1. The name of the applicant;
2. Name and address for correspondence;
3. a clear drawing of the mark;
4. a listing of the goods or services; and
5. the filing fee for at least one class of goods or services.
6. Citizenship of the Applicant
a. A recognizable and specific identification of the goods and/or services upon which, or in connection with which, the applicant uses, or has a genuine intention to use, the mark in commerce must be provided.
b. A line drawing of the mark in black ink is required for all marks. A “special form drawing” is required if the mark includes design elements, color specifications, and/or styles of lettering or unusual punctuation.
c. The manner in which the mark is used or will be used must be stated. A trademark will typically be used on the goods themselves or on packaging, labels, or tags for the goods.
d. The applicant must sign the application. If the applicant is a corporation, an officer should sign and provide his or her title.
e. A filing fee for each class of goods and/or services covered by the application is required.
Duration of registration
If no substantial objections are encountered, it generally takes 12 to 18 months for registration to issue.
